Hey! I’m Emily, the human behind Yellow Pen Events and a fan of many, many tv shows and movies.
My fandom journey started in the late 90s. I was a Buffy the Vampire Slayer stan, before being a ‘stan’ was even a thing. I loved Buffy loudly and proudly, but I loved it alone. My dial-up internet didn’t know how to direct me to my fandom community, and fan conventions abroad were barely something I’d heard about, let alone would think to attend! Nobody else l knew watched the show, but it was my favourite and that was all that mattered to me.
But, times have changed and we can now unite online to form international friendships and communities around our shared passions, with the chance to meet regularly, in person, at these special fan events.
Yellow Pen Events is born from personal experience helping host and run fan events, and realising that the best bit is watching individuals reunite with their community – their found family, and meet their favourite stars together in a fun, safe, and inclusive environment.
Yellow Pen Events are hosted in the UK and are organised by fans, for the fans, with inclusivity, respect and equality at the very core. With us you can expect to enjoy a weekend of fan-focussed experiences with your favourite stars including hosted panels, meet & greets, photo-ops and autographs, with special events thrown in too! “But why, oh why are you called ‘Yellow Pen Events’?” I hear you probably not ask, but I will tell you anyway.
My dad loved his favourite yellow pen, he was a yellow pen stan. Nobody else loved his yellow pen, nobody knew why he favoured it over all other pens. But, it was his favourite and that was all that mattered to him.
